Colin Michael Howles

PhD FRSM Geneva, Switzerland

Dr Howles has dedicated over 40 years to advance the field of Reproductive Endocrinology, working on industry’s foremost fertility solutions. Colin started his career in 1984, working with human IVF pioneers at the Bourn Hall Clinic, Cambridge – the site of the first ever IVF conception. He later joined Serono in the UK and Switzerland, where he was involved in the development and worldwide clinical introduction of ground-breaking infertility therapies. Dr Howles is also a leading fertility scholar: an author of numerous prominent academic publications, an editor of Textbook of Assisted Reproductive Techniques, and an Honorary Fellow in the Deanery of Biomedical Sciences, University of Edinburgh.

Charles Dorsey

General Manager, Aytu BioPharma, CO, the United States of America

Charles has 20 years of biotechnology experience in medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics (IVDs). At Aytu, Charles led the development and commercialization of MiOXSYS, a novel IVD product for assessment of male infertility. Prior to joining Aytu BioScience, he served as a US Commercial Leader at Meridian BioScience. In this role, he oversaw aspects of the financial performance of Meridian’s IVD diagnostics segment and led the launch of new molecular products to accelerate patient access. In addition to this, Charles has held various commercial roles at Genzyme Genetics. Charles holds a B.S., from the University of Connecticut and an M.B.A. M.H.A from the University of Colorado.

Karim Smaira

Founder and CEO, Genpharm Dubai, the United Arab Emirates

Karim is an international pharmaceutical executive and entrepreneur. After serving in several international senior management roles in the industry, he founded Genpharm in 2012. Operating out of Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, Genpharm focuses on making innovative treatments available for rare and genetic disease patients in the MENA region. Karim is a graduate of McGill University, Geneva University and Warwick Business School in both International Relations and Business Management.
